Les Bossons Chair Lift
The Les Bosson chair lift is a 2 person chair lift that runs from Les Bossons (1045m) to the Chalet de Glaciers des Bossons (1425m). The chair lift is great for people that want to enjoy the views of the Glacier des Bossons from the Chalet de Glaciers des Bossons. It is a nice little restaurant with great views and there is a little discovery path next to the restaurant. The Les Bossons chair lift also provides a head start for one of the more popular trails in the Chamonix Valley: the climb up to La Jonction where the Glacier des Bossons and the Glacier de Taconnaz meet.
In summer, the lift is open from mid June to mid September. The ground station in Les Bossons has a small ticket office where you can buy tickets directly on the same day. Babies below 6 months of age are not allowed to ride the chair lift. For exact operating dates, ticket prices and to buy your tickets online, visit the official website.
The Les Bossons chair lift is the brainchild of local french skiing champion James Couttet. It was built in 1960. For a lot more historical and technical information about this lift, you can visit the French Remontee-Mechanique website.
