Vallorcine Gondola
The Vallorcine Gondola is an 8-seater Gondola that departs at the center of Vallorcine (1293m) and runs to the Vallorcine Posettes mountain station (1981m). It connects Vallorcine to the Balme Ski area which is reachable from the Le Tour side via the Charamillon and Autannes lifts. From the mountain station you can cross over the Col des Possettes and continue upwards towards de Aiguilette des Posettes. You can also climb up to the Tete de Balme and onward to the Croix de Fer and descend into Switzerland.
The Vallorcine ground station has a ticket office where you can buy tickets directly on the same day. Children below 1 year of age are not allowed to ride the gondola. For exact operating dates, ticket prices and to buy your tickets online, visit the official website.
The Vallorcine lift is one of the last to be built in the areas in and around the Chamonix Valley with the current being installed in 2004. It is dramatically increased the tourism potential of the Vallorcine valley seeing how it gives direct access to the very popular Balme ski and mountain area.
